PEGASYS is an innovative Windows NT** based solution for power monitoring, analysis and control. It is an economical alternative to large mainframe-based energy management and distribution control systems for industrial manufacturing and processing operations, commercial and institutional facilities, and power utilities. PEGASYS directly supports Power Measurement’s 7000 series and 3000 series instrumentation and can be integrated with other systems.

Easy-to-Use Interface

Each networked workstation can be completely customized to give each user different graphic views of an installation, tailored specifically to their task. A simple, intuitive interface allows for easy management of complex power distribution systems. Animated graphics show operators where alarm conditions are, allowing them to isolate problems quickly by clicking through hyperlinked diagrams. Control of breakers and other equipment can be handled automatically, or manually with point-and-click mouse operations.

Robust and Reliable

PEGASYS operates under a client-server architecture that is highly resilient against system failure. The pre-emptive, multi-tasking Windows NT environment ensures that time critical power system events like alarming and logging functions are never interrupted. Data and control security are assured by the inherent file protection of Windows NT and additional levels of password protection provided by PEGASYS.

Data Sharing and Interoperability

Fully integrated with the computer network, PEGASYS gives enterprise-wide access to information. All historical data is stored in an ODBC database that can be accessed by third-party applications, such as reporting tools and accounting programs. Using Dynamic Data Exchange, real-time data can be shared directly with other applications and data from other applications can be sent back to PEGASYS. Via Modbus and DDE, PEGASYS also links to third-party systems (EMS, PLC, HVAC, etc.).

Scalability

PEGASYS is modular, so a system can start out small, with components being quickly added or upgraded individually as needs grow. And PEGASYS can adapt to future instrumentation, communication systems and computing products, ensuring that a system will never become obsolete.

** PEGASYS Workstation Lite and UltraLite for Windows 95/98 is now available, offering most of the features of the Windows NT-based version. This is a special order option if you require a single-workstation software package with a database, but can't use the Windows NT platform. (Note that the NT version offers significantly better reliability and security than the 95/98 option and hence is the recommended choice.)
